The weather on Friday: rainy over a northwestern half of the country

From Brittany and the Channel coasts to the Pays de Loire, overcast, rainy weather, with southwesterly winds up to 60 to 70 km / h in gusts, will be installed on Friday at the start of the day and will gain little to little most areas.

Slowly settling rains

In the morning, from Hauts de France, the interior of Normandy, Ile-de-France to Poitou-Charentes and Aquitaine, the rains will settle slowly but arriving in a still cold atmosphere, the rains will settle in slowly. precipitation may be in the form of mixed rain and snow. In the afternoon, while from the Manche and the Hauts de France to the Atlantic coast, the mild weather will gain with sometimes marked rains, the disturbed weather will extend to the northern borders, to the Massif Central and to the Pyrenees, in still cold air.

The precipitation may first be snowy in the north-east of the country, or freezing in the Massif Central, Limousin in particular, but this risk will quickly be replaced by rain. On the Pyrenees, the clouds will always block, it will snow lightly in the morning from an altitude of 500 m then the rain-snow limit will rise to 1,800 m during the afternoon but precipitation will be increasingly rare .

From Alsace to Lyonnais, clouds will still dominate, but precipitation will only arrive at the end of the day, with a risk of snow at low altitude first and then rain.

The Alps and the Mediterranean rim will benefit from a drier day and even a few clearings, but the mistral and the tramontane will blow up to 80 to 90 km / h until midday then will calm down significantly.

On the other hand, in Corsica, the clouds and the showers will persist for a good part of the day, but the wind will shift to the northeast. 

Up to 14 ° on the ribs

Except near the Channel, on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coast where the minimum will go from 0 to 5 degrees, frequent frosts will be feared in the plains, with -4 to +1 degrees.

At the end of the afternoon, the highs will go from 3 to 8 degrees from the northern borders to Rhône-Alpes and the south of Auvergne, they will rise between 8 and 13 degrees elsewhere, or even 14 degrees on the coasts.
