The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held, Friday evening, an official session of talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Emiri Diwan in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The talks dealt with bilateral, economic and investment issues between the two countries. The Qatari and French sides also signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the economic and financial field between the two countries' ministries of finance and a letter of intent between the Qatari and French ministries of culture.

A statement by the Qatari Emiri Diwan said that during the talks, opinions and views were exchanged on a number of issues of common interest at the regional and international levels, especially the latest developments in the region.

The French president arrived in Doha as part of a Gulf tour that will take him to Saudi Arabia, after his visit to the United Arab Emirates.
