On Smålandsgran's Facebook page, they state that the spruces come from "the prosperous plantations in Småland".
- We have discovered that they labeled spruces that were bought by us as organic even though we have no organic crops, says a Danish spruce producer to Aftonbladet.
The company's Krav certification has now been revoked and they are suspended from the label for 1.5 years.
Large retail chain terminates cooperation
Due to this, the plant company Plantagen has now terminated its cooperation with the spruce producer.
They will therefore not be able to sell any Krav-labeled Christmas trees this year.
According to Smålandsgran themselves, the statement is not true but they refer to shortcomings in the administration.
"The reasons for the recall are that we do not have sufficient routines for tracking the lots of spruces throughout the trade chain," writes CEO Anna Benson in an email to Aftonbladet.
