According to TASS, at the end of the third quarter of 2021, the number of people whose incomes are below the poverty line decreased by 2.8 million.
The agency notes that such dynamics is associated with an increase in the average per capita nominal income of the population by 15.5%.
At the same time, the number of the employed population during the specified period increased by 2.6%, reaching 72.2 million people.
At the end of November, the Russian government approved the rules for determining the "poverty line".
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, “when calculating the indicator“ poverty level ”instead of the subsistence minimum, which is now set depending on the median income, a new indicator will be used - the“ poverty line ”.
