“The mayor of the city of Prokopyevsk, who was appointed, decided to celebrate his inauguration in a cafe exactly on the day when an explosion occurred at the Listvyazhnaya mine and 51 people died,” Lebedev said.

According to him, despite the fact that the tragedy took place in a neighboring city, the mayor did not cancel his holiday.

“Thank God, there were people who filmed this orgy and, thank God, the governor of the Kemerovo region turned out to be the right person and the mayor was immediately fired, so he was mayor for a little over a day,” Lebedev said.

Earlier, ex-mayor of Prokopyevsk Vyacheslav Starchenko was expelled from United Russia for a banquet during mourning in Kuzbass.

The Governor of the Kemerovo Region, Sergei Tsivilev, said that Starchenko was dismissed after hosting a banquet in honor of his appointment during the mourning period in connection with the state of emergency at the Listvyazhnaya mine.
