Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, whose statements about the war in Yemen sparked a diplomatic crisis with the Gulf countries, is heading to submit his resignation Friday.

Two weeks ago, Qardahi said that he was open to any solution that would benefit Lebanon and restore its relations with the Gulf states, but stressed that his resignation would not be "just a shot in the air that does not lead to any result," as he put it.

He had previously stated that he was not committed to any ministerial position, and that he was not in a position of defiance with Prime Minister Najib Mikati or the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which he stressed respect.
