It was on the evening of June 22 that several police patrols were alerted to the Norrby district in Borås, due to a major riot.

Two groups had collided and violent riots broke out.

The police had an extensive operation for several hours before the calm subsided.

- The unrest in Norrby in June this year is based on a conflict between two loosely composed groups in the area.

Exactly what started the conflict is difficult to say.

My opinion is that all the suspects in this indictment belong to the same side in the conflict and are people who for various reasons are already known to the police, says chamber prosecutor Joel Pollnow in a press release.

Chaotic scenes unfolded

Of the 14 accused, 11 people are suspected of violent rioting, of which three people are also suspected of aggravated assault and one of aggravated violation of the knife law.

Another three people are charged only with aggravated assault.

The suspects are between 15 and 53 years old.

In the crowd, the suspects attacked people and property.

This happened despite the fact that police on the spot are trying to stop the course of events.

The chaotic scenes from Norrby were captured on a number of cameras.

- It has been an extensive work to review, assess and compile surveillance films to be able to identify the suspects, says Göran Arvidsson, the police investigation leader in the same press release.
