Overseas Minister Sébastien Lecornu visited Guadeloupe then Martinique for three days to try to calm the situation in the Antilles islands, plagued by urban violence. Caregivers, firefighters and part of the population still refuse to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Guest on Europe Matin Thursday, the Minister of Overseas Territories Sébastien Lecornu returned to the health and social crisis that is shaking Guadeloupe and Martinique. He strongly condemned the firing of live ammunition at police officers.

"The inter-union in Guadeloupe refuses to condemn the violence, but in addition it asks for an amnesty for those who have been brought before the courts and tried to assassinate the police and gendarmes. We are not talking about a few blows in l 'air. In Martinique for example, over only four or five days we are talking about a hundred shots. There is no possible amnesty and no possible excuse, "he said.
