UK to buy 114 million more doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines due to omicron strain

The deals to buy 60 million additional doses of Moderna vaccine and 54 million doses of Pfizer will help the UK buy time to fight the new omicron strain of coronavirus, he said.

In total, 32 cases of the disease with a new variant of COVID-19 were detected in the United Kingdom.

Earlier it was reported that the UK has temporarily suspended flights with South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Namibia and Eswatini since November 26 due to the discovery of a new strain of coronavirus B.1.1.529.

Also, the British authorities have tightened the rules for entering the United Kingdom in connection with the spread of a new strain of coronavirus infection "omicron".
