It was in October that the two nurses were to vaccinate the elderly in a special accommodation in Östersund municipality.

When all of the residents had received their third dose of covid vaccine, there were three doses left.

Instead of throwing the vaccine, the nurses decided to vaccinate each other and they also asked the manager of the accommodation if she wanted a vaccine syringe, which she agreed to.

The region reported to the police

Region Jämtland Härjedalen reported the nurses to the police for forgery because there was no medical prescription that the syringes would be given and that none of them belonged to the group that would receive the vaccine at the time.

Since a police report has been made, the municipality has now also reported the whole thing to IVO.

Did not want to throw vaccine

The two nurses acted in good faith and believed that the directives were the same as during the first round of vaccinations - that no doses would be wasted.

None of the nurses have been suspended because no citizen has been left without a vaccine and no medical injury has occurred.
