After what it said came as a result of a long discussion with intellectuals and specialists in a number of countries around the world, the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments announced, on Wednesday, its intention to translate the meanings of the Noble Qur’an into the Hebrew language to confront false copies issued in that language.
The Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa, said that the ministry will translate the meanings of the Noble Qur’an into the Hebrew language, after discovering that some copies of the Hebrew translation have been distorted, whether intentionally or because of inaccurate translation.
In a telephone interview with the "Rai Aam" program broadcast on the Egyptian channel "TEN", Gomaa confirmed that the ministry saw the need for an audited version for researchers, carried out by a specialized team of professors from the Department of Islamic Studies in Hebrew who are present at the Faculty of Languages and Translation of Al-Azhar University.

We did not receive corrupted copies
For his part, the spokesman for the Ministry of Awqaf, Abdullah Hassan, said that the ministry has issued a (book) for the team in understanding the meanings of the Noble Qur’an in English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Urdu and Indonesian.
Hassan explained, during a telephone interview with "Sada Al-Balad" channel, that it is scheduled to issue an edition of the book "The National Team" in the interpretation of understanding the meanings of the Holy Qur'an in the Hebrew language to confront distortion.
On the nature of the distortion in these copies, the spokesman for the Ministry of Awqaf denied that any of them reached the ministry, explaining that the ministry has initiated this matter because some orientalists sometimes publish false translations about the meanings of the Holy Qur’an, according to him.
Language courses for imams and preachers
The Egyptian Minister of Awqaf had announced, in his speech at the preparatory conference for the 28th International Holy Quran Competition, on Wednesday, that the ministry was working to intensify advocacy work through cyberspace.
Gomaa added, in statements reported by Egyptian newspapers, that training courses have been allocated for female preachers, along with imams, to teach them foreign languages, and indeed 6 of them have passed these courses at an outstanding level and will be honored.
He explained that the training circle will be expanded for imams and preachers wishing to obtain these training courses to improve their level in foreign languages.
