He stressed that the situation in the south-east of Ukraine does not have a military solution and it should be resolved exclusively through diplomatic means.

“We once again call on all interested parties to implement the Minsk agreements as soon as possible, including monitoring the border between Ukraine and Russia,” RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Stockholm, warned US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about the consequences of Ukraine being drawn into the geopolitical games of the United States.

At the same time, Lavrov announced Russia's interest in joining efforts with the United States to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken previously noted that Washington considers the implementation of the Minsk agreements to be a way to overcome the growing tension around Ukraine.

At the end of November, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin considers it important to implement the Minsk agreements as part of the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine.
