An invitation was sent to journalists in Germany to attend the meeting on December 8 for the upcoming election of the Federal Chancellor.
"The usual accreditation of the German Bundestag will be valid on the day of the Chancellor's election - Wednesday, December 8, 2021," the press service said.
At the end of September, Acting German Chancellor Angela Merkel congratulated Social Democrat and candidate for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on winning the parliamentary elections.
The Kremlin expressed hope for continuity in relations with the FRG after the elections.
