Sven was sitting in his car when he saw two people running past further ahead.

Shortly after, an older man ran after them and Sven suspected that something was not right and asked if he wanted help to hunt for the other two.

- I saw a guy come running, and he did not run like he was late to the bus.

He ran away from something.

And then came the poor robbed man, says Sven Ahrenhold.

Hunting at high speed

For several miles they follow the thieves, who push the gas properly through the small communities in southeastern Skåne.

On the phone, the poachers are in constant contact with the police.

- In some village, they fly past a 40-sign and over a bump.

We took it much calmer.

The police were clear that we would not break the speed limits when we followed.

Sven has no previous experience of car chases, but says that he has worked in the security industry and arrested several people.

- I was the right person in the right place.

It felt good.

Insane journey through Österlen: "Now we will hunt gold thieves!"

The police took over

After a while, the police were on site and took over the hunt and were then able to arrest the suspected thieves, who were brought to justice in Ystad District Court on Wednesday.

They deny the allegation of theft.

The two poachers are not suspected of any crime in connection with the hunt.

According to municipal police Lars-Göran Björnqvist, it is allowed to hunt for thieves, but not to break the law yourself during the hunt.

- It is an assessment from case to case.

But as a private person, you take on the responsibility to act in a responsible manner in the context, says municipal police Lars-Göran Björnqvist.
