Sentenced to ten months in prison for strangling his partner

A 30-year-old man appeared before the Orléans criminal court (Loiret) on Wednesday to explain the violence committed against his partner.

The facts took place two days earlier at Malesherbois.

The victim's 11-year-old son had returned home from school to find his mother in shock and unable to speak, reports

He then called for help.

The victim explained that an altercation broke out with his companion.

The couple had been formed for a few weeks.

Found guilty

The victim detailed that she had asked him to leave the accommodation.

She assured that after a stampede, she fell to the ground and the man found himself on top of her, hugging her by the throat.

In court, the man admitted to having "tightened his throat a little" and expressed regret.

The defendant was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a committal warrant, prohibition to come into contact with the victim, to whom he will have to pay 1,500 euros in damages.
