Mutant "Omicron" .. "World Health" talks about the current position of available vaccines

Today, Wednesday, the World Health Organization announced that 24 countries have registered cases of the Omicron mutant so far, calling for intensified health monitoring for early detection of the virus, according to the newspaper "The Guardian".

And the newspaper quoted the agency “Reuters”, that the organization confirmed that there is no evidence so far that the effectiveness of corona vaccines has declined against the Omicron mutant.

And she considered that there is no need to develop new vaccines for Corona, and vaccine manufacturers must make some modifications to the current vaccines.

The organization indicated that the first injuries recorded with the mutant had “mild” and “not dangerous” symptoms, calling on those vaccinated against Corona to continue to follow precautionary measures, foremost of which is wearing a mask and social distancing.

And about the return of the travel ban in some countries, she says that “these measures have consequences,” noting that Europe has become “a center for the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.”

Omicron, discovered in South Africa, has raised more concern than any other strain since the emergence of Delta, which was found to be more contagious than previous Covid-19 mutants.

The World Health Organization considers that “the probability of omicron spreading in the world is “high”, but so far, no deaths associated with the new mutant have been reported.
