Lavrov and Blinken discussed the situation in Ukraine

During the negotiations, the need for unconditional and full implementation by Kiev of the Minsk complex, including maintaining a direct dialogue with the authorities of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, was emphasized.

In the context of the situation, it was noted that the latest initiatives to amend the legislation of Ukraine are contrary to the spirit of the Minsk agreements.

Earlier it became known about the extension by the Verkhovna Rada of the special order of self-government in certain areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions for another year.

The law "On the Special Procedure for Local Self-Government in Certain Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions" was first adopted in 2014.
