"The United States will tighten its pre-departure testing protocols early next week, requiring all international travelers arriving in the country to be tested within one day of departure, regardless of citizenship and vaccination status," the press release said.

Passengers are currently required to be tested for at least three days of freshness before boarding a flight to the United States.

Earlier it was reported that the US authorities would consider introducing additional restrictions on air traffic due to the spreading omicron coronavirus strain.
