According to a report by ChinaNet.com, on November 30, local time, CNN stated that it had suspended Chris Cuomo's work "indefinitely" because new documents released this week indicated that Chris was closely involved in helping his brother and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo defend a series of allegations of sexual misconduct.

According to reports, a CNN spokesperson said on November 30, “The New York Attorney General’s Office released records and evidence on Monday, giving us a new understanding of Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense. These documents were published before the public release. We don’t understand, they raise serious problems."

"These documents show that Chris is more involved than we previously knew," the spokesperson added.

"Therefore, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation."

The documents released by New York Attorney General Letitia James include text messages and interview records of investigators.

The documents included text messages between Chris Cuomo and Melissa De Rosa, then a senior assistant to Andrew Cuomo, which showed that he played a role in defending numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.

The text messages also showed that when the accuser began to disclose Cuomo’s misconduct, Chris Cuomo tried to use his relationship in the press to help his brother’s team prepare.

On November 22, the Judiciary Committee of the New York State Assembly issued an investigation report on the impeachment of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, stating that it had found "overwhelming evidence" showing that he had sexual harassment during his tenure.

Andrew Cuomo resigned as Governor of New York State in August this year due to a sexual harassment scandal.

At that time, he admitted that he had hugged and kissed some women on the cheek, or called certain people with words such as "sweetheart, dear".

However, he argued that this was a way of showing kindness or politeness to others, without any bad intentions.
