As far as the construction of modern countries is concerned, there are huge differences between China and the West. For example, Western Europe took a pluralistic path of the same structure of nations and countries, forming Western European countries with homogeneity; the three countries of the United States, Canada, and Australia followed immigration and The path to conquer the country's isomorphism.
From the traditional "Discrimination between Yi and Xia" to "Republic of Five Ethnic Groups" and then to "Regional Autonomy of Ethnic Groups", China has found the correct way to solve the problem of national governance in China, and it has taken the path of harmony from ethnic pluralism to national unity.
[Explanation] Xu Jieshun pointed out that the ethnic issues, governance thoughts and policies formed by the different ways of governance of ethnic issues in China and the West will inevitably produce differences.

Fundamentally speaking, there are two types of Western governance thoughts and policies on ethnic issues. One is the single-ethnic policy, one country and one ethnic group, which is basically the case in Europe; Diversified countries, such as North American countries and Australia.
The thinking and policy of governance on ethnic issues in China is a "big family" from pluralism to unity, in a nutshell it is "multiple unity".
Formed an ethnic policy with "ethnic equality, ethnic unity, ethnic regional autonomy, and common prosperity and development of ethnic groups" as the main content.
On the contrary, what Western countries implement is a capitalist system. Ethnic policies center on the mainstream groups in Western society, serving and subordinate to the goal of safeguarding the fundamental interests of the bourgeoisie.
[Explanation] When the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was established, based on factors such as ethnic minority populations and regional economic characteristics, two schemes of "division" and "combination" were formed.
So, why did you choose the "combined" plan in the end?

At the beginning of the establishment of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it was based on the principle of “combination benefits both, and division benefits both harms”, and the eastern part of the population, occupying a small area, and the relatively developed economy of the Han population is relatively small in the western part of the country. The backward areas where ethnic minorities live in concentrated communities are united so that the two sides can complement each other and make progress together.
[Explanation] In all historical periods after the founding of New China, Guangxi has always upheld an open and inclusive attitude, and welcomes compatriots from all over the world to come to Guangxi and integrate into Guangxi.

After the establishment of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it has achieved world-renowned construction achievements.
In 1958, the GDP of Guangxi was only RMB 2.452 billion (the same below).
By 2020, this number will reach 2.22 trillion yuan, more than 900 times the amount in 1958.
[Explanation] Xu Jieshun believes that the "Guangxi sample" of the unity and integration of Chinese ethnic groups is representative because it has provided the world with a successful sample of the harmonious development of the nation.

As a region of China, Guangxi has more than 230,000 square kilometers and a population of more than 50 million. There are 12 generations of inhabitants including the Han nationality. The "Guangxi sample" tells the world: In global governance, national unity is life, that is strength.
The unity and friendship of all ethnic groups is a vivid manifestation of the harmony of a community with a shared future for mankind and an important guarantee for the prosperity and development of the nations of the world.
