Wu has a close relationship with Rodrigo Duterte, has served as his assistant for many years, and has a great friendship.
He said that withdrawing from the election was to avoid causing more trouble for Duterte.
Christopher Wu told GMA News: "In recent days, I realized that my brain and heart can't keep up with my actions...so I withdrew from the election."

According to analysis, Wu's withdrawal has resulted in the fact that the Philippine ruling party currently has no official presidential candidate.
