Chinanews, December 1, according to foreign media reports, Philippine Senator and former assistant to President Rodrigo Duterte, Christopher Wu (Bong Go), announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.

Wu has a close relationship with Rodrigo Duterte, has served as his assistant for many years, and has a great friendship.

He said that withdrawing from the election was to avoid causing more trouble for Duterte.

Christopher Wu told GMA News: "In recent days, I realized that my brain and heart can't keep up with my actions...so I withdrew from the election."

According to analysis, Wu's withdrawal has resulted in the fact that the Philippine ruling party currently has no official presidential candidate.

According to reports, during the Philippine presidential campaign, Duterte and those around him changed their plans for election.

The report pointed out that at first Christopher Wu registered to run for the vice president. Rodrigo Duterte said he was the partner of his daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio, who seemed to be running for the president.

Later, Sara Duterte-Carpio decided to run for vice president, and Christopher Wu became the presidential candidate.

Currently, Sara Duterte-Carpio will partner with Marcos Jr., son of former Philippine President Marcos, to run for vice president and president.

The four political parties in the Philippines recently signed an agreement stating that they will support the combination of the two.

On the other hand, Rodrigo Duterte’s presidency will end in 2022.

The Philippine Constitution stipulates that the presidential term of office is six years and cannot be re-elected, so he cannot participate in the presidential election.
