“We are not a party to the conflict, we have stated this more than once at different levels,” Tsekov said.

At the same time, the senator stressed that a dialogue is needed between Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

In his opinion, without this dialogue "it will be impossible to stop the conflict."

“And to say that this requires a dialogue with Russia is to continue to divert the citizens of Ukraine and Ukraine as a whole from resolving the conflict in Donbass,” Tsekov said.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during his message to the Verkhovna Rada on the internal and external state of affairs in the country, said that without direct dialogue with Russia, the conflict in Donbass cannot be completed.
