  Almaty City Health and Anti-epidemic Supervision Bureau Deputy Director Baigabrov recently stated that as of now, the city has not found any signs of the spread of the Omi Keron strain.

But Baikabulov also emphasized that Almaty still has the risk of spreading the strain.

Among them, unvaccinated people are more susceptible to infection.

Baigabrov pointed out that an important means to stop the spread of the virus is mass vaccination.

  Prime Minister Ma Ming of Kazakhstan expressed his support for the Ministry of Health's measures to further strengthen border quarantine prevention and control at the regular government work meeting held on November 30.

Ma Ming pointed out that the current epidemic situation in Kazakhstan is in a stable and controllable state, and the number of confirmed cases has dropped significantly.

Nationwide, only North Kazakhstan is in the red zone with a higher risk of spreading the epidemic.

  Ma Ming emphasized that epidemic prevention departments at all levels should continue to monitor the local epidemic situation and remind people to wear masks in closed public facilities and maintain social distancing.

  He said that among the country’s citizens over 18 years old, 76.6% have been vaccinated against the new crown, and the number of people who have completed two doses of vaccination has reached 70.8%.

  According to data from the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, as of November 30, Kazakhstan had completed the first dose of vaccination over 8.72 million people, and had completed the second dose of vaccination over 8.06 million.

  According to news from Kyrgyzstan’s Manas International Airport, since December 1, all national and foreign citizens entering Kyrgyzstan must have a negative report of the new coronavirus nucleic acid test within 72 hours.

The airport stipulates that no matter whether passengers have been vaccinated or not, they must submit a negative nucleic acid test report before entering Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, passengers from countries where cases of infection with this strain have been found are not allowed to enter Kyrgyzstan.

  Uzbekistan, another Central Asian country, also expressed concern about the entry of the Omi Keron strain.

The Deputy Director of Uzbekistan’s Epidemic Prevention, Safety and Public Health Bureau Atabekov said that although Uzbekistan does not have direct flights to Africa, the strain is spreading rapidly and it is very likely to enter the country through a second or third country.

He also pointed out that the formation of herd immunity can be used to fight the virus, that is, to increase the vaccination rate on a large scale. The existing vaccines are effective against any mutated new coronavirus.
