They were spotted and then arrested thanks to video surveillance.
Two girls, barely 11 and 13 years old, were arrested Monday evening, around 8 p.m., at Toulouse Matabiau station.
Their report had been circulating since in the afternoon a passenger had indicated having had her wallet stolen from her bag at the nearby Marengo metro station.
Between the facts and the arrest of the two minors, around 700 euros had been withdrawn with the victim's bank card, of which the two pickpockets therefore knew the code.
Investigators assume that they were already spinning the user when she bought her ticket from the vending machine.
Duo flights
Only part of the money was found on the suspects.
But they recognized the facts.
The oldest was brought before the juvenile prosecutor's office on Tuesday afternoon while her accomplice was placed in a home.
But other "specialists" quickly took over.
Tuesday at 6 p.m., two other minors, aged 16 this time and already known to the police, were arrested at the Compans-Caffarelli metro station.
The teenage girls had been filmed two hours before pulling a wallet from a passenger's bag.
They are still in custody on Wednesday.
