Since 8 o'clock this Wednesday morning, the 140,000 members of the Republicans have been called to the electronic ballot boxes to designate who will represent the party in the presidential election of 2022. A two-round ballot, the first of which runs until Thursday 14th hours, which takes place the day after the fourth debate between the five people in the running, Xavier Bertrand, Valérie Pécresse, Michel Barnier, Philippe Juvin, and Éric Ciotti.

As for the second round, it begins Friday at 8 am and ends Saturday at 2 pm. 

Maximum level of security

It is therefore Saturday from 2:30 pm that the LR members will know their champion for 2022. And to avoid any possible dispute from one of the candidates, all will be represented at the party's headquarters by a member of their team, who will discover the outcome. of the vote, in the presence of a bailiff responsible for ensuring the security of the ballot. "We are on the maximum level of security, with codes sent by cell phone, with checks," confirms at the microphone of Europe 1 Aurélien Pradié, Secretary General of the Republicans. "A necessary step", according to the latter who "appears technical but is very political". And for good reason, it is via this security in the electronic ballot that "the results will be accepted by all, including those who are disappointed".
