At a quarter to nine on Wednesday morning, a 55-year-old man sought out a forensic psychiatrist in Sundsvall and then attacked two of the staff with a knife.

- A person came to our entrance and asked for a department.

Two of the staff came and met him and then he attacked them with a knife, says Bengt Eriksson, press spokesperson at the Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic.

Does he have any connection to you?

- I can say as much as that there is no patient for us at the moment, but whether there is any connection or not, I do not want to comment on.

Two to the hospital

The people were taken to hospital, but at the moment there is no other information about the injury situation.

- Our staff has mostly received ward injuries and needed medical attention.

We have the incident on video, but have not had time to talk to the staff or investigate the incident properly, says Bengt Eriksson.

The police arrested the man, who is 55 years old on the spot and is currently investigating the incident as aggravated assault in two cases.

The police have cordoned off the place and will investigate the incident.

Among other things, interrogations will be held, the contents of surveillance cameras will be reviewed and a technical investigation of the site will be carried out.
