Traffic accidents occur frequently and frequently in rural areas
Since the beginning of this year, many road traffic accidents have occurred in rural areas in Heilongjiang, Anhui, Ningxia, Gansu, Hunan and other places, causing widespread concern in the society.
On September 4 and 5 alone, two major traffic accidents occurred in Heilongjiang and Anhui, resulting in nearly 30 deaths.
On September 4, on the Shuangxingling section of National Highway G229, Dasizhan Town, Boli County, Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang, a heavy-duty semi-trailer truck drove from west to east and collided with a four-wheel tractor running in the same direction in front of it. 15 people were killed and 1 injured. On September 5, in Niuzhen Town, Taihu County, Anqing City, Anhui, a pickup truck overturned and crashed into a ravine, resulting in 12 deaths and 2 injuries.
Among them, in the accident in Niuzhen Township, Taihu County, the casualties except the driver were all female workers in the mountain tea factory, mostly middle-aged and elderly people.
On August 24, on Longfeng Avenue, Chengguan Town, Yichuan County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, Zhang drove an unlicensed two-wheeled motorcycle without a safety helmet, and turned around at will during the driving process, and was driving with Yang who was driving normally. The small car collided, causing varying degrees of damage to the two cars.
According to Guo Huifei, head of the traffic police brigade of Yichuan County, such typical accidents often occur in rural areas.
From January to October this year, a total of 1,328 traffic accidents occurred in rural areas of the county, with 13 deaths and 360 injuries.
Insufficient facilities and poor safety awareness expose rural people's travel supply problems
In rural areas, traffic accidents mainly occur at the intersections of national and provincial roads and county and township roads, as well as road sections with poor road conditions and incomplete traffic safety facilities; accidents are caused by driving without a license, illegally manning people, driving in reverse, and fighting for roads. But behind these problems, the issue of rural people's travel supply needs urgent attention.

In June this year, the General Office of the Ministry of Transport and the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued a notice on strengthening the service guarantee for mass travel in rural areas during key periods to address the problem of rural mass travel supply.
"Combination of dredging and blocking" makes rural roads "safe"
