- We are proud of the work with learning for sustainable development that we do in education Gävle's operations.

If we are to achieve long-term sustainable results, our children must be given knowledge and tools to be able to make informed and good choices for their and the planet's future, says Sofia Lord, environmental strategist at Gävle Education, in a press release.

Keep Sverige Rent's motivation reads:

"Gävle - for a broad commitment with a record number of participants in the Garbage Collection Days and continued development of the work with the Green Flag and Learning for Sustainable Development (LHU) in Education Gävle's activities".

Rank the municipalities based on work against littering

Every year, Keep Sweden Clean ranks the municipalities based on their work against littering.

The ranking is based, among other things, on the proportion of children who participated in the annual Garbage Collection Days, as well as on questionnaires about the municipalities' preventive work against littering.

Since 2018, emphasis is also placed on how the municipalities have designed their preventive work, something that is judged by a jury.
