An employee of a funeral director is suspected of having falsified a judicial requisition, which authorized the exhumation of a body in the Parc cemetery, in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine).

The goal was to recover the jewelry from the remains, reports

Le Parisien

.

It was a police official who realized that the paper was a forgery.

Placed in police custody, the employee admitted to having produced the document himself.

Up to 10 years in prison

The 31-year-old man explained that he had done this for the family of the deceased and saved them a long procedure.

For the director of the cemetery, the suspect is telling the truth.

The latter assures that the family had already made a request to recover the jewelry deposited in the coffin.

The thirty-something will have to answer for "forgery in public writing and use, committed by a person charged with a mission of public service" in front of the justice.

He will be summoned to the Nanterre Criminal Court on April 19, 2022. He faces ten years in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros.
