The so-called
ITV case
continues to give something to talk about. Only 13 days after the mayor of Móstoles, Noelia Posse, (PSOE) came to testify
as an investigated
for an alleged crime of
embezzlement
and
prevarication
by allegedly condoning a debt of 2.45 million euros to the
ITV Móstoles
company
SL
, this Wednesday the titular judge of the Court of Instruction number 1 of the town has cited as investigated
all the members of the Local Government Board.
The complaint was filed last February by the two councilors of Más Madrid,
Susana García
and
Gabriel Ortega
, on understanding that the City Council "forgave the collection of fees" that imply the use of public land for the aforementioned company to develop its activity in the town, and was admitted for processing last April.
In addition to Posse, the instructor agrees to summon those investigated on February 16 and 28.
The deputy mayor,
David Muñoz, will do it first
;
the Councilor for Employment;
Rebeca Prieto
;
the Councilor for Culture,
Alejandro Martín
;
and the mayor of Urbanism,
María Luisa Ruíz
.
On February 28,
the Councilor for Equality
María Dolores Triviño
, the former mayor of Urbanism
Beatriz Benavides
and the Councilor for
Education Natividad Gómez will
parade
before the judge
.
All, with the exception of Benavides, continue to be part of the local government.
To "safeguard jobs"
In statements to this newspaper, the Móstoles City Council assures that this is "a political complaint" and that "all that was done was to
safeguard the company's jobs
and so that the city council
could collect, at least, a part of the debt
".
In the complaint, the councilors of Más Madrid assured that the decision served "the interest of private companies" and not that of the public administration.
"The Administration's need was the collection of the debt contracted by the company and not the cancellation of more than half of the debt, the postponement without guarantees and interest of the debt not forgiven and the
reduction of the canon for the next twenty years
", they added in their writing.
