A minor, arrested as part of the investigation into the off-duty policeman injured Sunday in Paris, was indicted Wednesday for attempted murder and placed in pre-trial detention.

The official, who was not on duty at the time of the incident, had been stabbed in a shopping center.

His function as a police officer was a priori not known to the aggressors before the brawl, according to the first elements.

The custody of a second person arrested on Tuesday was lifted, without prosecution at this stage.

According to a source close to the investigation, the latter was arrested around 12 noon Tuesday and released around 7:30 pm.

An official of the Department of Proximity Security of the Parisian agglomeration (DSPAP), off duty and alongside his companion, was seriously injured by a stab on Sunday, after a dispute with several people, in the Italy 2 shopping center , in the 13th arrondissement of the capital.

The policeman's life-threatening prognosis is no longer engaged

The prefect of police had given him "his full support" and the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin had stressed that "all means" were "put in place to find the perpetrators of this unbearable act".

The policeman had been taken to hospital in absolute urgency, according to a police source.

But in the evening, a second police source had indicated that his vital prognosis was no longer engaged.
