Yesterday, Tomas Eneroth was appointed Minister of Infrastructure in Magdalena Andersson's new government.

Just minutes after the press conference began, the special prosecutor's office announced that they were launching a preliminary investigation into sexual harassment, in which Tomas Eneroth was accused of taking a party colleague by the ass.

In a letter that eleven anonymous Social Democratic women in Kronoberg are to be behind, together with women from other S-districts, they are strongly critical of Eneroth gaining renewed confidence from the top.

- There is widespread dissatisfaction.

Partly that it has been quiet internally and that you appoint him minister before you know what the investigation says.

This means that you do not take this seriously.

I am thinking of her who has been exposed, and how she must feel about this, says a person behind the letter, which went out yesterday to several media.

"Does not tolerate Eneroth"

In the letter entitled "We do not tolerate Eneroth", the women write:

"Men who commit sexual abuse and harassment have no place in our government."

Several of the wordings in the letter are taken from the Meetoo appeal #imaktenskorridorer from 2017 - which was signed by several high-ranking Social Democrats and the letter writers wonder where the support for the vulnerable woman is now.

"Where is everyone who raises their voice now that it is happening within our own wake?

It is quiet from the top, but as in 2017, we refuse to show continued acceptance of men who commit serious crimes against women. "

Afraid to be punished for opinions

At the same time, all letter writers want to be anonymous.

SVT has been in contact with one of the women who says that several are "terrified of being exposed".

- This is very sensitive, it goes without saying.

If he can get a ministerial post after these accusations, then you can understand how top-down the party is.

If it is revealed who wrote the letter, there will be retaliation.

Tomas Eneroth has previously written to SVT Nyheter about the incident in the hotel room and explained that the inappropriate touch took place unintentionally, and that he apologized to the woman.

SVT raises the criticism with Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) at today's press conference.

We hear from women in (S) that there is a culture of silence, how do you comment on that?

- That is why I said that I think it is good that it is lifted up and investigated within the party.

I'm proud to be party chairman just when there are members who do it, I think it's important that if there is a situation that feels uncomfortable that you bring it up, just like this woman has done.
