The new omicron variant of the coronavirus may be spreading in Sweden.
On Monday, the first confirmed case of omicrons came in Region Skåne.
According to Malin Bengnér, it is currently difficult to say how it will be in the county.
- We know very little about the new variant.
What we do know is that it is a virus variant that has many changes in its genome.
But we do not know if the disease picture looks different, if you are more or less contagious, the vaccine gives the same protection against this viral effect.
These are questions that no one has answers to at present, she says.
