Train traffic north of Malungsfors was discontinued in the early 1970s and the rails were removed.

But the dream is that the trains will start rolling there again.

All the way up to Sälen.

The municipality of Malung-Sälen owns the embankment where the railway used to be.

- This is the eighth bridge that we are equipping.

It is mainly for car traffic today but also for those who want to use the embankment to walk or cycle, says Tord Matsson during work at a bridge at Megrinn between Malungsfors and Lima.

Freight traffic resumed a few years ago on the stretch south of Malungsfors.

North of the terminal, the rails are thus gone, but the embankment will be maintained in this way with the goal that the trains will eventually roll all the way to Sälenfjällen.
