Today, the Swedish Transport Administration presented its proposal for a national plan for the transport infrastructure for the years 2022 to 2033. This is a total of SEK 799 billion.

Of these, the Swedish Transport Administration wants to use 107 billion for the construction of new trunk lines.

Actually, the plan does not contain much new for Östergötland, but events in western Sweden can provide more money for projects in our area.

Härryda municipality has withdrawn from the planning work for the part of the railway expansion that runs through the municipality.

This means that the Swedish Transport Administration completely pauses the planning work for the Gothenburg-Borås railway section.

Of eight billion kronor, a redistribution of five billion is proposed in order to be able to build Ostlänken faster.

What this actually means, more than one construction can go faster, is not clear yet.

Bypass Söderköping is still waiting

On the road side, Söderköping is waiting for the new bypass to begin construction.

The Swedish Transport Administration says that they could soon start procuring for a start of construction in 2024-2025.

However, appeals have been received, which means that the start time for that construction is still unclear.

The Swedish Transport Administration thus presented its proposal today.

This will then go out for consultation and when the consultation responses have been processed, it is hoped that the government will be able to make a decision on the plan in the spring of 2022.
