The Mazhilis said that recently Poland, Lithuania and Latvia have become hotbeds of illegal migration in Europe "because of the hybrid attack of the Belarusian regime."

In his opinion, Minsk allegedly deliberately creates conditions for a mass gathering of thousands of refugees, which poses a threat to these three states bordering on Belarus.

At the same time, the deputy recalled the financial issues that Warsaw, Vilnius and Riga have to solve independently in the light of the migration crisis.

“Lithuania, for example, had to spend € 152 million to complete the construction of the 500-kilometer wall by the fall of next year.

The protection of the external borders of the Schengen zone should be of common interest for Europe, but the associated financial burden is borne only by Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, ”the MEP clarified.

In this regard, the Mazhilis asked the European Commission if they intend to reconsider the issue of financing the construction of any "physical barriers" on the border with Belarus in the near future.

"If so, when will this happen?"

- clarified the politician.

Earlier, Polish senator Krzysztof Mruz announced Warsaw's plans to start building a fence on the Belarusian-Polish border due to the situation with migrants from the Middle East.

However, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell doubted that the migration crisis on the border of the two countries could be resolved in this way.
