November 29, 2021 The outgoing Swedish Premier, Social Democrat Magdalena Andersson, has been re-elected Premier by Parliament for the second time in a few days.

On Wednesday, Andersson resigned seven hours after she was elected after the Greens left her minority government coalition.

The 54-year-old was voted on by 101 MPs, 173 opposed it while 75 abstained.

In Sweden it is not necessary for the prime minister to have a majority, as long as there is no absolute majority to vote against.

The Social Democrats, the only ruling party in this new attempt, have only 100 seats out of the 349 in Parliament.

Andersson, 54, finance minister, is Sweden's first female Premier.

She had previously served as finance minister in Stefan Lofven's government.
