The incident occurred in the middle of the summer in a terraced house area in Salem municipality.
The investigation states that a woman in the area had just packed the car and left home when her daughter sent several text messages: "MOTHER CAME", "COME NOW" and "THERE IS SOMEONE IN THE HOUSE".
The man, a neighbor on the same street, must then have entered the house with his daughter.
He left the home after a while and started walking towards his own house where he later went out on the balcony and fired a shot.
The weapon that the man had in the house was converted from a military weapon to a hunting weapon.
The piston and barrel of the weapon had been sawn off.

The district court judges that the mother and daughter's stories are credible and more neighbors have been able to testify about the course of events.
Sentenced to forensic psychiatric care
The man himself has denied responsibility for the crime and believes that he acted in an imaginary emergency situation.
He says, among other things, that he must have heard cries for help from his neighbors' houses.
The man has previously been convicted of a crime and a forensic psychiatric examination concludes that he acted under the influence of a serious mental disorder.
He is sentenced to forensic psychiatric care for a serious weapon crime and a domestic peace crime.
He must also pay damages to the mother and daughter.
