Malian

political parties

were invited

to a “

meeting

” with the head of state

on

Monday morning.

But the representatives of the political parties attended, according to the term of several participants, a "

monologue

" by the president of the Transition.

The meeting was therefore quite short, it lasted less than an hour.

Colonel Assimi Goïta

once again tried to convince the many recalcitrant to take part in the National Assizes of the refoundation.

To do this, he used the same arguments as those put forward so far: the need to come together and set the course for future reforms to get the country out of the cohesion crisis.

However, there was no question of the electoral calendar and the date of future elections, explain several participants.

No details either on the new date of these so controversial Assises.

Initially scheduled for mid-December and then at the end of December, they were

again postponed

last week to a date that has not been fixed.

So some parties, such as Yelema, who was represented by his political secretary Hamidou Doumbia, are delighted that the head of state has taken charge of this file, whom they consider to be more open to dialogue than Prime Minister Choguel Maïga.

They appreciate the process, “

but basically that doesn't change anything

 ”, they say.

"

There has been no new proposal,

" said Amadou Koïta, president of the PS-Yeleen Koura, for his part.

He was not convinced to participate in Assizes which were still considered inappropriate and redundant after the many similar exercises which have taken place in recent years, including at the start of the transition period.
