Further confirmation comes from the sequencing relating to the man, who was recently in Monzambico for work, and to the direct contacts he had on his return to Italy, first in Rome, then at home and then in Milan.
His entire family unit has variant B.1.1.529.
The rapid sequencing was possible thanks to tools that with Ngs technology, which are equipped with the laboratory of the Cotugno hospital in Naples, specialized in infectious diseases and regional reference center for the pandemic, which allow to process and evaluate the viral genome in full within 24 hours.
All four patients have no relevant symptoms confirming the action produced by the vaccine.
"We express our appreciation - for the highly qualified staff of Cotugno who completed the sequencing. We will follow this case with the utmost attention, especially for tracing", reads a note from the President of the Region, Vincenzo De Luca.
