As Nordberg recalled, earlier the head of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs Horst Seehofer stated the need to help Poland secure its border with Belarus in order to prevent the influx of refugees to the West, which Minsk allegedly condones.

Apparently, the Swedish MP noted, the FRG government believes that toughening of sanctions against the “Belarusian regime” is not enough in this regard.

Specific measures should be taken at the border to prevent the "regime" from bringing migrants into the area, Nordberg said.

Along with this, he added that in 2015, Sweden and Germany received “a very large number of refugees per capita” from among those who then arrived in the EU.

In his opinion, it is "very likely" that this will happen again now "because of the actions of Belarus."

“Considering that Sweden will not be able to integrate for a long time, it seems reasonable that the country as soon as possible make its contribution to the protection of the EU border with Belarus, providing concrete support to Poland, Latvia and Lithuania,” the parliamentarian said.

In this regard, Nordberg asked Linda what measures the minister and the government intend to take to help these three countries ensure the security of their borders and the borders of the EU with Belarus.

Earlier, the heads of the parliaments of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia demanded to immediately apply a new package of sanctions against Belarus, which allegedly provoked the migration crisis.

For his part, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko expressed the opinion that Western countries are to blame for the crisis, because of whose actions people are fleeing the war.

In addition, he drew attention to the fact that the contact persons from the European Union, who were supposed to participate in resolving this problem, do not get in touch.
