David Tegnér is a local police officer in Botkyrka, Stockholm County - one of Sweden's so-called vulnerable areas, where there are also gang conflicts.

When the media reports on police operations in areas like his, it is not infrequently about shootings and serious crimes.

But it is something that is still unusual, according to David Tegnér.

- Shooting is not something you go on every week even or every month.

But it can vary, now it was a long time ago.

At the same time as they are not everyday, the more serious crimes are also not possible to get around in the profession

David Tegnér, for example, worked with an on-site investigation after a 12-year-old girl was shot in Hallunda last year.

He has also been involved in a murder in which a person was killed with an ax.

- To be first at such events ... Then the pulse goes up very much and there is a lot to think about at the same time.

Police officers receive support calls that are sometimes mandatory.

Everything to last.

- Have you been to a job and maybe seen a person die in front of your eyes ... You will never forget such an event, but we continue to work.

What's the worst thing about your job?

- To see dead people, like, you get used to it.

You get blunted.

But to give death notice, to meet the relatives, that's probably the worst thing about this job.

How do you see continuing to work in external service, in the future?

- Hard to say, but I have worked since 2016 and the fun of the job is still there, it has not changed.

You feel that you are doing something useful and needed.
