Bethlehem -

Palestinian Osama Abu Sultan hangs on the walls of the mourning tent pictures of his son, the martyr child Amjad (14 years), and another of the place of his martyrdom by the Israeli occupation army in the tunnel area in the city of Beit Jala, west of Bethlehem, in the southern occupied West Bank.

Abu Sultan places the pictures in sequence, to tell the story of his child, whose body was held by the occupation since his death on October 15, until he was handed over and buried after 40 days, and talks with all visitors about the story of his son, who said he was targeted by the occupation intelligence officer responsible for the area who resides in Bethlehem.

luring and then assassination

One of the pictures hanging on the walls of the mourning tent was of a conversation between the child Amjad and the Israeli intelligence officer named in the conversation “Captain Wissam Abu Ayoub” on the evening of August 13, 2021, in which he said to Amjad: “Do not be angry, Adham was playing with fire, He deserves to be imprisoned."

Referring to his friend Adham Abu Srour, who was arrested at dawn that day.

And Abu Sultan believes - in his talk to Al-Jazeera Net - that his child Amjad was targeted, provoked and manipulated, until he was deliberately assassinated by the Israeli occupation soldiers in a tight ambush.

Abu Sultan believes that the provocation was from an intelligence officer to a young child through the use of words such as: “You do not interest me,” as stated in one of the correspondences, which prompted Amjad the child to do any act of resistance to defy the intelligence officer, which he saw as a defense and revenge for his detained friend. .

When we arrived at the martyr's funeral tent in the city of Bethlehem, the father was explaining to the attendees the story he had filmed from the moment of the targeting to the assassination, and one of the pictures was of the area of Amjad's martyrdom in Beit Jala, and he placed lines and circles on it, and stated that Amjad did not have his Molotov cocktails reach the street. Or the passing vehicles, but their traces are still on the separation wall, as in the picture.

Amjad's father accuses the occupying state of having orchestrated what he called the assassination of his child's son, and it turned out that he was well watched, and the soldiers had ambushed him to shoot him at close range, as the autopsy showed later.

failed output

Abu Sultan holds papers for what he said were news published on the Israeli media, and said that he would use them to defend his son in the available courts, first Palestinian, then Israeli and internationally, because he believed that the occupation deliberately killed his child and could have arrested him.

Abu Sultan also differentiates between the published news, which he said is different. In one of the news, it was said that the boy was 16 years old, and he did not exceed 14 years old, and it was said that a policeman killed him, which is false because he was assassinated in a tight ambush, and the soldiers who killed him, were carrying a Palestinian flag and placed it on his body, in a sign He was carrying a flag and tried to raise it on the wall, which was much longer than the size of Amjad the child, and he was able to verify that because the flag was not stained with his blood, and that it was a failed attempt to remove a premeditated murder case from the occupation.

Palestinian masses carried the body of the child Amjad, and it was buried in the cemetery of the martyr Hussein Abayat, east of Bethlehem, on Friday, and his father was seen filming a live broadcast of the funeral ceremony.

And about that, he tells Al Jazeera Net that he was unable to bring his extended family living in the Gaza Strip to Bethlehem, and he was also unable to bring Amjad's brother and sister, who are studying medicine in Egypt, to take a last farewell look at him, so he did this filming even though - as a martyr's father - He should have taken care of other things, he said.

family from Gaza

The martyr’s father suffered for many years before reuniting his family in Bethlehem in 2011, where his father, a retired major general, lived after he returned with other fighters to Palestine during the Oslo agreement in 1994.

About that, Abu Sultan tells Al Jazeera Net that the occupation used the issue of the family being from Gaza in the matter of Amjad as well, accusing him of being from the besieged sector, in another attempt of the many justification attempts he made to cover the murder of his son with 3 bullets, as the autopsy showed, and a crime Corpse held and frozen.

Abu Sultan ended his speech to Al-Jazeera Net by saying: "He will not remain silent about what happened with his son of targeting, provocation, manipulation and luring, leading to assassination, and that he will sue the occupation in all available courts, pledging that Amjad's case will not be buried as he buried his body."
