The activities of the International Defense and Military Industries Exhibition "EDEX 2021" will begin in Egypt tomorrow, Sunday, in its second session, scheduled for the period from November 29 to December 2.

The Egyptian army announced, in a press conference held yesterday, Saturday, the details of the exhibition, pointing to the participation of international companies in the field of armaments, defense and security industries at the regional and international levels.

The conference was attended by Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi, head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization Abdel Moneim Al-Terras, head of the Egyptian Army Armament Authority Osama Ahmed Ezzat, and head of the (AWE) company - the organizer of the exhibition - in the Middle East, Thomas Gaunt.

It was announced at the conference that the exhibition will include in its new session 21 international pavilions, with the presence of exhibitors from all over the world to display the latest technologies in the fields of defense and armament, and that many military delegations and visitors will be present.

The Egyptian Minister of Military Production, Mohamed Ahmed Morsi, expected - in the press conference - that the second edition of the exhibition (EDEX 2021) would witness a development compared to the first edition, with the participation of nearly 400 companies from about 42 countries.

He also confirmed that more than 40 defense ministers - or military productions - and military leaders from the countries of the world announced their attendance at the exhibition, expecting that the visitors to the exhibition will reach about 30,000 visitors.

The Egyptian Information Service (officially) quoted the Egyptian Minister of Defense, Mohamed Zaki, as saying that Egypt looks forward to receiving the most important pioneers in the defense systems industry in the world, and that the event is expected to develop in size and strength in its second edition compared to the successful first edition, stressing the keenness of the General Command The Armed Forces must follow all precautionary measures and measures to ensure the health safety of visitors during the exhibition’s activities.

It is noteworthy that Egypt organized the first edition of the exhibition in December 2018, with the participation of 41 countries, 373 international companies, and 56 official delegations, according to the Egyptian Information Service.

Egypt announced at the time that the exhibition would be organized every two years, but the developments of the Corona pandemic - apparently - caused the second edition to be postponed to the current year instead of 2020.
