November 28, 2021 An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred at 3.52 off the coast of the Aeolian Islands.

The earthquake was located by the National Seismic Network in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea, about 25 kilometers north-west of Alicudi (Aeolian Islands) at a depth of about 5 km.

Today's event, the Ingv notes, falls within an area characterized by significant seismic activity.



From the map of past earthquakes extracted from the Parametric Catalog of Italian Earthquakes, it can be seen that the earthquakes of 21 May 1957 (M5.3), 1 February 1971 (M4.4), 7 September 2009 (M4.8) had epicenters at a few kilometers from today's one.



"At the moment, there is very little news of resentment, but it will be possible to have updates in the next few hours," he explained.
