  According to reports, the Sudanese military earlier issued a statement on social media saying that “Ethiopian troops and militia groups attacked Sudanese troops in Al-Fashaga Al-sughra, causing casualties.”

The statement also revealed that the Sudanese army "repelled the attack" and caused "significant losses" to the attackers.
