The research done by László Tabár and his research group has shown, among other things, that regular mammography examinations have led to a greatly reduced risk of dying from breast cancer.

On Monday, Tabár, who previously worked at Falu Hospital, and the research group will receive an award for radiologists at a conference in Chicago where around 20,000 people are expected to participate.

Important with surveys

- I have worked with an international research group for 30 years and this is the result of the last three years' work, says László Tabár.

This is the second time the group has received the award.

This time the group is praised for showing how important it is to do regular mammography examinations.

- A missed examination increases the risk of dying from breast cancer, says László Tabár.
