The United States continues the tragedies related to firearms.

A five-year-old American was shot dead Thursday night as a group of teenagers shot a video for posting on social media, police in northern Brooklyn Park reported.

A 13-year-old boy is suspected of firing accidentally while handling a weapon, police said on Facebook.

He was arrested and taken into custody in a juvenile center.

"Several other minors were present" at the scene of the drama, a house in this suburb of Minneapolis, where "they were trying to shoot a film for social networks."

Bloody Thanksgiving

The guns claimed at least 35 other victims Thursday as Americans celebrated Thanksgiving, according to the Gun Violence Archives website. A 5-year-old girl died in the suburbs of Atlanta. Her family told local WCB-TV that they accidentally unloaded a gun from a chair. It is a three-year-old child who shot by accident, however assured the police on the Fox channel. A 25-year-old man was shot dead in Philadelphia by a stray bullet while dining with his family. Police are looking for a 19-year-old suspected of shooting after being kicked out of another party at a nearby house, according to the local NBC affiliate.

Gun violence has increased since the start of the pandemic in the United States.

They have killed more than 40,000 since the start of the year, including suicides, according to Gun violence archive.

Some 274 children under 12 are included in this grim count.
