14 "Hongtong" suspects were escorted back to China

Suspected of cross-border gambling and telecommunications fraud

Reported by our newspaper reporter Dong Fanchao recently, in close cooperation between the Chinese police and overseas law enforcement agencies, 14 Interpol "red communications" targets, Chinese criminal suspects suspected of cross-border gambling, telecommunication fraud and other crimes were escorted back to the country.

Since last year, the national public security organs have made heavy blows to severely crack down on cross-border gambling groups’ inviting gambling and gambling behavior against me. They have knocked down and shut down many overseas casinos and online gambling platforms that gambling against me, effectively curbing overseas cross-border gambling. The gambling group’s momentum of inviting gambling and gambling on me has effectively safeguarded the country’s economic security, social stability, and national image.

Under my strong attack and deterrence, some online gambling and telecommunications fraud gangs have successively flowed from Southeast Asia to various parts of the world, continuously enticing domestic personnel to work abroad, and coerced and controlled employees by threats of violence, illegal detention, etc., which seriously harmed the property security of Chinese and foreign citizens. And legitimate rights and interests have a bad influence on Sino-foreign economic and trade cooperation and normal personnel exchanges.

In response to the above situation, with the strong support and coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security of China closely cooperated with foreign law enforcement agencies to escort and repatriate 14 Chinese criminal suspects in a concentrated manner, forming a powerful deterrent to relevant illegal and criminal acts.

At present, the 14 suspects who have been repatriated are being detained in isolation in accordance with the epidemic prevention policy.

In the next step, the public security organs will carry out further investigations in accordance with the law.
