"Emirates Post" issues the first regional stamp according to the "non-exchangeable codes" technology

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the country's union, Emirates Post Group issued innovative stamps based on the "non-fungible tokens" (NFT), in a qualitative achievement that makes it the first regionally in adopting advanced technology in the issuance of postage stamps.

The group is preparing to unveil the new generation of postage stamps on December 2, to launch four distinct stamps based on the "non-fungible tokens" (NFT) technology, in celebration of the golden jubilee of the establishment of the Federation and in line with the digital transformation agenda.

The innovative stamps will contain a digital twin within the "Blockchain" system, which will be sold as digital collectibles linked to their counterparts from traditional stamps.

Abdullah Mohammed Al-Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post Group, expressed his pride in announcing the launch of a set of postage stamps based on "Non-Exchangeable Tokens" (NFT), which is the first of its kind in the Middle East in line with their plans to transform into a focused company. on advanced digital technology.

He explained that the new tradable stamps are distinguished by the use of "Blockchain" technology and are a strong boost to our continuous endeavors to bridge the gap between traditional stamps and the world of cryptocurrencies, especially in light of the acceleration of smart transformation locally and globally.

Al-Ashram added that their efforts have recently focused on developing a strong technical infrastructure to enhance the growth of their business, considering that the issuance of the new generation of stamps is evidence of their high capabilities and their serious efforts to transform into a company more focused on digital technology, in order to ensure the provision of the best services that Live up to the aspirations and satisfaction of customers.

He expressed their aspiration to launch their innovative stamps on December 2, in commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of our auspicious union, where lovers of advanced technology will be able to collect, exchange and trade our distinguished stamps, which undoubtedly reflect inspiring stories from the pioneering march led by the UAE.

Stamps based on "non-replaceable tokens" have digital counterparts stored in the "Blockchain" system where they can be collected, traded or used for exchange over the Internet like any other digital tokens.

Each of the four new stamps bears a distinctive design inspired by the UAE National Day emblem.

The first stamp is a special and unique edition containing 1 gram of pure gold and bears the title "Golden Jubilee 2021".

On the other hand, the second stamp bears the name “Spirit of the Union 1971” and symbolizes the founding of the union by the founding fathers “may God have mercy on them.” The third stamp revolves around “the year of the fiftieth” .. while the fourth edition embodies the “fifty projects 2071” that translate the ambitious future vision of the country UAE.

Stamp holders will be able to see the digital design associated with the actual stamp after scanning the QR code printed on the front side of the card.

The stamp also contains an encrypted and locked NFC chip for verification using any smartphone equipped with an NFC reader.

Each stamp includes a unique code hidden behind the card that can be opened by scanning a QR code to activate the corresponding peer in the blockchain system.

Users with a digital crypto wallet can connect it directly to “non-fungible tokens” and add the digital twin as a collectible pool.
